Second day of sailing Palma Vela 2017


About 130 boats filled the bay of Palma today to sail the second day of competition of the Sail Racing PalmaVela. The wind was slow to settle down, but it allowed sailing to all classes.
After yesterday's premiere for the Wally, Maxi 72, IRC, ClubSwan 50 and Swan 45 classes, today the bulk of the fleet, consisting of ORC Classics and the monotypes AICO J80, Sotheby's Dragon and Flying Fifteen. The menu of the day consisted of a coastal test for ORC, IRC and Classics, and windward-leeward format for the rest.
The fleet was out in the water with a forecast wind of Levante and the threat of a transition to the southeast, with potential risk of disrupting the program. In the end, although delayed in several classes, everyone would be able to compete.
The provisional leaders at the end of the second day are: Nahita (Wally), Momo (Maxi 72), Aegir / Seven Seas (IRC 1), Music (IRC 2), Earlybird (ClubSwan 50), Elena Nova Audax Energy (ORC 0-A), Il Corvo (ORC 0-B), Airlan Aermec (ORC 1), Just the Job (ORC 2), Yabadaba (ORC 3), Diafreo Mallorca J80), Speedy Gonzales (Flying Fifteen), Stasya (Sotheby's Dragon), and the classics Marigan (Cangreja), Sonata (Bermudian) and Calima (Spirit of Tradition)
