MY OLYMPIC PROJECT
VOLAVERUM EXPERIENCE
I am Alejandro Aranzueque, I am 27 years old, I am a professional sailor and my dream is to get involved in an Olympic Games. In finishing this course my goal will be to get my dream.
I started in the sailing world at the Yacht Club Santa Pola, at age 6 I started as a crew member in the cadet class and at 8 I started to participate in regattas in the Optimist class.
With twelve years of my physical development, I force myself to change classes and opt for Laser Radial. In this class, I managed to be the Nº 1 of the Ranking of the Valencian Community, in the seasons 2005, 2006, 2007.
In the 2005/2006 season, I got my first national championship, in the Spanish Cup. That same year LaFederación Española de Vela, selected me to participate in the European Laser Radial, which was held in Italy. After finishing the season of Laser Radial, I was proposed to participate in the Championship of Spain of the class Finn, where I classify tenth and second juvenile. The successes achieved in the 2005/2006 season marked a turning point in my sports career and I set out to work hard to reach the top in the world of sailing.
In the 2007 season The Spanish Sailing Federation counted on me to participate in the World Youth Championship of the Laser Radial Class, this championship was my farewell of this class to embark on a new stage in the ClassLaser Standar.
In 2008, I participated in the Olympic Week in Barcelona (Pharo World Race), where I obtained a good classification, the national coach, noticed my talent and counted on me, to help the Olympic team for the 2008 Olympics.
In 2009 The Spanish Sailing Federation offered me the possibility of training in the CAR of Santander with the Olympic Sailing Team. I packed my bags in September, looked for housing and there I compiled studies and trainings. In Santander, I had the opportunity to navigate in new, more technical classes, which demanded more physical, so I ended up sailing in the Finn Class, and I got a new, more competitive boat.
In the summer of 2011 I was offered a new challenge, to be part of the crew of the boat, Cuadernos Rubio, an unforgettable experience, which gives me the opportunity to sail with an elite team.
Being among the best requires effort, sacrifice, patience and training in the best possible conditions.
The day yesterday of regatta of the 25th edition of the regatta Jose was with a wind intensity of 12 knots of average and with an east wind that covered the bay of Santa Pola. It was a perfect day for the practice of navigation.
We made a coastal route, which started with a clearing mark, which then took us to the south port, this already sent us to the beacon of the reserve of the Island of Tabarca, followed by return to the coastguard Pinet coast that no longer Takes to the last beacon thus taking again the buoy of the south and finishing between a line of the building of the nautical club and the buoy of exit.
We started the race by going out for the race committe first, but our high volume and low start intensities do not allow us to go at maximum speed. Even so we arrived at the buoy of the clearing in first position and the buoy of south also in first position, peri a mistake in the choice of the first board towards Tabarca we conditioned ourselves and we moved away of the head going all that was of race in third position and Ending in real time in ground position.

As we already know Alicante has been selected to give the departure to the Volvo Ocean Race 2017-2018, the dates for this event also know it will be from the 14 to the 22 of next October and what better plan is to see and enjoy the regatta from a boat And lose track of the race as and when you want. We have the privilege of enjoying a great sport event in our country as it is the volvo ocean race and I believe that this opportunity should not stop us from passing through what we leave the contact of several of the best charter companies of the province.

THE WINNER OF THE PROOF OF THE LAST EDITION (2014-2015) WILL BE PRESENT FOR THE SEVENTH TIME.
Roberto Bermudez de Castro, will continue making history in the Volvo Ocean Race 2017-2018, since it is already official his incorporation to the Dutch equipment "AkzoNobel". It will leave from Alicante on October 22nd and this will make it one of the most experienced competitors in the competition, this will be the seventh.

This Coruña was the winner of the last edition and became the second Spanish sailor to win the Volvo Ocean Race in 40 years of history, the first was the Barcelona Joan Vila. Chuny Bermudez, well known in the world of sailing, was Olympic in the Star class in Athens 2004 and competitor in two America Cups (1995 and 2000). Recently, in 2015, he received the Spanish Navigator of the Year Award.

THE "ECOMAR" AND IBERCAJA FOUNDATION CLOSE CHILDREN AT SEA.
THE PRESIDENT, THERESA ZABELL, DOUBLE OLYMPIC CHAMPION, AND THE BANK ENTITY HAVE SIGNED A COLLABORATION AGREEMENT TO DEVELOP ACTIVITIES.
The main objective of the collaboration agreement is to bring children and young people closer to the marine environment through environmental and ecological values.

Both entities are involved in raising awareness of a better planet where recycling, good nutrition, healthy and healthy, and sports values will make the goal a reality in the future.

MARÍA PERELLÓ, OPTIMIST CHAMPION AGAINST MEN
THE YOUNG REGATIST PROCLAIMED SPAIN CHAMPION OF OPTIMIST IN ALTEA DOMINATING THREE OF THE FIVE CLASSIFICATIONS OF THE COMPETITION.
On the weekend of 15-16 April 2017, the Spanish Cup of Optimist was held in Altea (Alicante).
In the day of Sunday 16, Perelló executed a great feat, it was done with a seventh and a first position, obtaining the victory in the general classification ahead of the participants in masculine category.
Thus the Mallorcan rose to the podium of the general ahead of the canary Samuel Beneyto (second) and the Galician Yago Barca (third). María Perelló won in Aletea three of the five categories of the competition, Sub-13 women, women's absolute and the overall classification.
Great news for the Spanish women's sport.

VOLVO OCEAN RACE LEGEND RAMÓN CARLÍNCongratulations!!
Tribute to Ramón Carlín, skipper of Sayula, winner of the first edition of the regatta in 1973/74
He was a Mexican businessman who won the first edition of the Volvo Ocean Race in the year 1974. His boat was a Swan of 65 feet in length. Carlín baptized the sailboat with the name of Sayula II, in honor to the town where his wife was born in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. During that edition of the regata died 3 sailors in the different oceans. The weather conditions were so adverse that even Sayula II was hit by a 12-meter wave causing the boat to overturn.
In the year 2011 Carlín met again in the city of Alicante, Spain (current departure point of the Volvo Ocean Race) with old colleagues of that edition that won, previously failed to maintain any contact with these sailors since that tragedy The victorious return to the world.
GREAT BEGINNINGS

Incredible stories of sailors, adventures of friends, dreams since childhood, passion for the sea, live adventures, discover new horizons. All these reasons can be those that encourage the different sailors participating in the Volvo Ocean Race to participate, there are very few who come to live in that incredible experience, that little deserve all our respect since a regatta as tough and demanding as it is Round the world makes a sailor stronger to face future challenges with greater energy.
I have had the privilege of knowing many sailors who have participated in a round the world and are not only great sailors, they are also great people, they are very special people since they have known to live together for days at sea, with few meters of Space and sharing many good experiences and we are so good. As Patan comments in the edition in which the Spanish boat MOVIESTAR sank, in that same stage the Dutch team ABM lost one of his companions by the border and this one died waiting to be rescued, once it was rescued without life boat Dutch tube that go to rescue the Spanish vessel MOVIESTAR, as this sank, in the Dutch boat had to coexist 19 person and a deceased, I do not know what that is, but I imagine that situation should not be simple for None of the sailors who were on board the boat since they had lost a friend and others had lost a boat.
My reflection is the following, you have to fight for the dreams that one creates but always fight knowing that there will be bitter defeats in which you will have to rise without having touched ground as much depend on us to continue fighting.
EXPERIENCE RACE LES VOILES DE ST BARHT
Today I show you my experience as a sailor of the Plis Play boat in Caribbean water. I have been a very lucky person since I have had the great opportunity to travel to a unique place, I have been able to share great experiences with a team and a group of unique people that have helped me every day to become a better sailor.

The objective of this trip to the Caribbean was to compete in the Les Voiles St.Barth race, this race is one of the most prestigious in the Mediterranean in which the best and largest boats in the world compete.
In this image I meet Sherwin, he is one of my adventure partners, together we had a lot of fun and above all I learned a lot from him. My washer on the boat was the third bowman, I got the sails from one side of the boat to the other side also I attended the firs bowman and second bowman.
During the course of the competition we started the first day with a third position making an approximate course of 40 miles and 15 knots of average wind, finishing in third position. The second day we did an approximate journey of 30 miles and with a lower viewing intensity, about 10 knots on average, finished this day in fourth position.
The third day was scheduled to rest, so we took advantage of it to go visit the island, and we also had a time to relax on the beach and eat at one of the best restaurants on the island in the company of all the crew.
On the fourth day we continued to compete with an approximate journey of 25 miles and with an average intensity of about 8 knots of wind, we performed a great regatta thus achieving the victory of the day, which we were able to celebrate once the nights with our partners. In the image above we can see the team held the partial test. We finishing this way third in the general of the championship.
To conclude I want to comment on my happiness for having had the opportunity to be competing with a unique crew and continue to learn from the best Spanish sailors knowing a little more.
It's my first regatta with Pez de Abril, I've never surfed the swan 42 class before and the experience was incredible, it's a very fun boat, it reminded me of my stage in the J80 class since the configuration is very similar, Has a very noble navigation and the design of the boat is elegant.
The Palma sailing was the first regatta of the season for Pez de Abril, after a long stall for repairs and set-up.
The regatta started for the ORC class on Friday 5, it was not our day, as soon as we left a pipe a mishap with one of our rivals and we had to withdraw.
The second day of regatta was much better we performed two regattas in which in the first we finished fifth and the second we performed first. It was a sunny day with average winds of fifteen knots with an address of 260.
The third day of racing could pass anything from winning to last, we went out to sea with the desire to win and we started the first race with a quarter and finished the second with a victory finished in the general in the second position. Here you can see the final classification.
