INVICTUS TAKES THE WILD WEST AND LEADERS

The Royal Yacht Club of Valencia gives a free boat trip during the month of July to all boats participating in the SM La Reina Trophy and the King's Cup MAPFRE. The regatta celebrates its 19th edition this year.

The 14th Sail Racing PalmaVela said goodbye with a day in which all classes were able to complete the planned tests. The sum of the partial of four intense days of competition in the bay of Palma decided the champions of the first great race of the season in the Mediterranean.
The last day of competition of the Sail Racing PalmaVela was intense and even dramatic, with victories (and defeats) decided in extremis in several classes. Five of them were played on a single card in a coastal format, while the rest took the time to play two or even three windward-leeward types. The wind cooperated once more, and everyone could say goodbye to Palma haggling.
In addition to the four days of competition, the 14th Sail Racing PalmaVela champions are: Nahita (Wally), Pepe Cannonball (Maxi 72), Aegir / Seven Seas (IRC 1), Music (IRC 2), Mathilde 50), Elena Nova (Swan 45), Audax Energy (ORC 0-A), Porron IX (ORC 0-B), Airlan Aermec (ORC 1), Just the Job (ORC 2), Yabadaba Mallorca (ORC 4), Code Zero (AICO J80), Speedy Gonzales (Flying Fifteen), Mr. (Sotheby's Dragon), Classics Spartan (Cangreja), Sonata (Bermudian) and Calima (Tradition Spirit), and Hansa 303 Alex Foundation (both in Single and Double).

The edition of the 2017 Le Voile St.Barht race was a spectacle because of the large number of participants in the test and the conditions of navigation with constant winds that made this regatta a special regatta for all the participating boats. One more year had the participation of the maxis and mini maxis, these super yachts stand out for their speed and their beauty in technology and design, also have the best world sailors that make this regatta even more prestigious. Zeland team has a hydraulic system in which the winches are replaced by
bicycles, an innovative system in which sailors are observed pedaling on top of
the boat, this system transfers power to the candle adjustment system, with
That by using the legs you can transfer more energy more consistently and you
can keep longer pedaling time and generate more power. Other equipment also
tested this system but finally the only equipment that would use this system
will be the Emirate. We will see who will be the winner.
AC35, first flight for Groupama Team France.
Grupama already prepares the Copa America with its new boat, the French team already has its new AC with which will dispute this edition and fight for the cup of the hundred guineas. Vestas ready for
another edition of the Volvo Ocean Race
Vestas are returning to the Volvo Ocean Race for a second consecutive edition, after launching their 2017-18 campaign in partnership with 11th Hour Racing at simultaneous events in Newport, Rhode Island and Aarhus – where it was also announced that the fleet will make a ‘fly by’ of the Danish city on the final leg
Vestas are returning to the Volvo Ocean Race for a second consecutive edition, after launching their 2017-18 campaign in partnership with 11th Hour Racing at simultaneous events in Newport, Rhode Island and Aarhus – where it was also announced that the fleet will make a ‘fly by’ of the Danish city on the final leg.
Vestas 11th Hour Racing will be led by the American duo of Charlie Enright and Mark Towill. The team are the fourth to announce for the upcoming edition, which begins on 22 October, and they will use the race to promote a sustainability message around the world.
Enright and Towill had their first Volvo Ocean Race experience as skipper and Team Director of Team Alvimedica in 2014-15.
“We’re working hard on building a competitive team ahead of the race, and have a couple of transatlantic sailings lined up for April and May.”
The teams will depart Alicante on 22 October and race 45,000 nautical miles around the world with stops at Lisbon, Cape Town, Melbourne, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Auckland, Itajaí, Newport, Cardiff and Gothenburg before the finish in The Hague.
The One Design concept has reduced the need for campaigns to announce as early as in previous editions and there is no reason why a campaign getting off the ground this summer can’t go on and win the trophy.
